Q: Why should I consider bathtub refinishing rather than replacement?
A: First of all, to replace something you MUST first
tear out the old items. When considering the cost of replacement, you
must consider tear out, cost of replacement item, labor for
installation, not to mention the mess and time it will
take. For example, normal costs of replacing a bathtub range from
$1,500.00 - $3,000.00 and will usually take one and
a half weeks to complete. Refinishing takes less than one day and
will save at least 70% vs. replacement.
Q: How long will it take to refinish my bathtub?
A: A standard bathtub will take about 3-4 hours to
complete. A 1 pc. Fiberglass unit will take about 4-5 hours.
Q: How long until I can use my refinished surface?
A: Any refinishing done by our company will need to
cure 48
hrs before use.
Q: Will my refinished surface have a warranty?
A: We do have a warranty. Please see our
warranty and care
page for more information.
Q: How long will my refinished surface last?
A: Out in the field we see bathtubs lasting 10-12
years. We use a better product than was used that long ago. We are
expecting a lifetime of at least 12-15 yrs. Lifetime will
vary depending on a number of things such as water quality and
amount of use.
Q: How do I clean my refinished surface?
A: Do not use any abrasive cleaners or bleach
containing products. Please see our warranty
and care
page for more information.
Q: What if my refinished surface chips, cracks, or stains?
A: If you have any problems with your item, please
do not hesitate to call us. We are able to do spot repairs.
Q: During what part of a remodel should I have my bathtub
refinished?
A: Anything being done to the walls above the
bathtub should be complete before we arrive. Please call for more
information.
Q: What colors are available?
A: We carry white and almond in stock. With these
colors we can create many shades in between. These include
bone, bisque, mushroom, beige, and many others. A wide range of
colors can be special ordered for an additional fee.
Q: My bathtub has been refinished before by another company.
Can it be refinished again?
A: If your bathtub has been refinished before, we
can do it again. It will need to have the old finish stripped
first. We can
do this for an additional fee.
Q: Can I use bathmats, butterflies, or strips to prevent
falling?
A: These items will ruin your new finish and void
your warranty. We can roll a textured non-slip surface in the
bottom of
your bathtub. This will avoid the need for these items.
Q: What if I have shower doors?
A: If you do not want shower doors anymore, remove
them before we arrive. After your finish has cured, install a
shower curtain. If you are replacing your shower doors, remove
your old doors before we arrive. After your finish has
cured, install your new doors. If you are keeping your doors, you
can remove and replace, or you can remove the
doors, leave the track, and we will mask off the track before we
spray.
Q: Will the drain and overflow need to be removed?
A: The overflow cover will usually be removed
easily. This is normally a dirty area and we like to clean and
refinish this
area. If there is rust around your drain, it will have to be
pulled (by you or a plumber) before we arrive. If this is not
done, the rust WILL return. If you have no rust around your drain,
it does not have to be removed.
Q: Will I have to leave while you are refinishing because of
the smell?
A: Very rarely does someone have to leave. Our
ventilation system will remove a lot of the smell and dust. You
will
probably still smell something, but it will not be unbearable.
Please call with additional concerns.
Q: Will you leave a mess behind?
A: There can be some dust left behind, but should be
no overspray. The dust left behind can be removed with a damp
washcloth. We recommend removing items sitting around the bathroom
and/or hanging on the walls. It is easier to
remove the items than clean them all.
Q: What about my pets?
A: Our product will not hurt you or your pets. We
will be going in and out of your house multiple times and do
prefer
that pets are locked up to prevent escape.
Q: Do you have references?
A: We like our customers to feel confident about
having us work for them. We do not like to give out our customers’
names and/or phone numbers. If you must have a reference, we can
try to provide one.
